1.- Who was your favorite character (s) from the film? Why? My favorite character was Derrick. He is the one that highlights from the rest of the characters. I like the fact that he doesn't care about the fight between the two sides of his town. He only cared about boxing, and he didn't stop until achieving that mission. Even if he had several obstacles, like his father political aspirations, that didn't allow Derrick to box. Or Don Sin, with his really violent mob. 2.- How does the film compare to the other Jamaican films from the 70s? (Besides visual effects, think about the plot and character development). It changes a lot. In the 70's films, plots were more about how unjust the life in Jamaica was, in terms of getting succesful. Those films showed us the different ways a common jamaican had to get money to feed their family and to be famous or succesful. Also, there was a much poor character development,. 1.- Who is your favorite character from the story and what kind of background do they come from? Why? (Use examples from Michelle Cliff's essay, If I Could Write This in Fire, I Would Write This in Fire ) I have two favorite characters. In first place i choose Larissa. She is a black woman that works for white people in Jamaica, as a slave. Her roots are poor and she is a very humble woman, as described. In second place I choose Lorraine. She is a white girl that comes from a rich family, that owns lands and slaves. I choose them because they are the opposite, in an apartheid society that separates people by the color of their skin. But at the same time they represent that race is not an important issue in social relations. We can make a clear comparison between the Pain Tree story and Michelle Cliff's essay. We can relate Lorraine with Michelle and Larissa with Zoe. Lorraine and Michelle share the same family roots, white land owners that had relations with England and the ...

1.- How does Leroy "Horsemouth" Wallace from Rockers compare to Ivan Martin fro m The Harder They Come ? Well I think that Leroy was different from Ivan. They have a lot of similarities in their stories. The two of them have to overcome the mafia in the music industry and they are seduced by the crime lords to work for them. They get involved in the organizations but in different ways and with different purposes. Ivan was always a man that wanted the top of the world, and always thought about himself only. Leroy was a justice man, and when he found out that the mafia stole his bike and many other stuff from the people of the town, he decided to make justice on his own (with the help of a lot of people). With that being said, Leroy is a great character and he is admirable, in comparison with Ivan Martin. 2.- What is your favorite scene from the film? Why? My favorite scene of the film is the one that shows dirty Harry and Horsemouth in the Key Largo Be...
